UNDIP Global Classroom 2026:Data Science Informatics students learn Business Intelligence with UTM experts

The Information Department of Diponegoro University held the UNDIP Global Classroom (UGC) 2026 program for Data Science Courses on May 21, 2026. This activity is part of Diponegoro University’s commitment in realizing a World Class University through strengthening students ‘ global Insight and academic collaboration with partner universities at the international level.

On this occasion, the Department of Informatics presents Dr. Nilam Nur Binti Amir Sjarif from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as a speaker. The activity, which was held online, was attended by 61 students of the Informatics bachelor program who participated in the Data Science course.

Speaking on Business Intelligence, Dr. Nilam explained various important aspects related to the use of data in supporting decision making in modern organizations. The material presented covers the current condition of the business environment, the role of organizations in facing challenges and taking advantage of opportunities, basic concepts and workflows of Business Intelligence (BI), the importance of BI in supporting data-based decision making, to the business analytics framework and career prospects in the field of Business Intelligence and data analytics. To give you a more detailed description, Dr. Nilam also demonstrated the process of developing a business intelligence dashboard through a case study. This session provides a more concrete understanding of the implementation of BI in supporting the analysis and management of information in the business world.

The implementation of UNDIP Global Classroom in this Data science course provides an opportunity for students to learn and interact directly with international academics. Through this activity, students gain a broader insight into the development of Science and industrial practice at the global level.

This academic collaboration between Diponegoro University and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is expected to further strengthen the international network of both institutions and support the improvement of the quality of education in line with Undip’s vision as a superior and internationally reputable research university.
